About this map

Wisconsin taverns have long hung lighted beer signs out front: the white signs with a red stripe and an Old Style, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Blatz, or Schlitz logo. Many are faded, and more disappear every year. This map records the ones that are still up.

How bars get on the map

The list of bars and pubs comes from OpenStreetMap. Volunteer reviewers check each one in Google Street View and record any vintage beer signs they see, the brands, the sign's condition, and the date of the Street View image. 0 bars are on the map so far.

Street View images can be several years old, so a sign on this map may be gone. Check before you make a special trip.
